I have a neighbor who bought a beagle puppy, not taken proper care of it. What to do to help the puppy?

I've never been so upset over this 9 week old puppy than I am now. I've been raised with dogs all my life. I can't beliebve how this family is treating this puppy! I want to call the humane society, but my husband is telling me not to get involved. I feel like I need to help this puppy. Please advise how to proceed with this issue.

If they're breaking any laws, then you have every right to call animal control. Your neighbor doesn't have to know it was you who called animal control. If this puppy is harmed this early in its life, this puppy could end up with behavior problems and health problems.

I think your husband wouldn't want you to get involved if it was a human baby too. Call animal control, you don't have to give your name. They will investigate and ensure the animal is given proper care.

Many of the answers are right…you can make an anonymous call and they can look into the matter.

That really isn't getting involved, and if your husband has such a problem with you making that phone call, you may want to find out why. Would he be against you making a phone call for a suspicious activity in your area?

And…Carlos…what an ignorant statement. Maybe you should do what your mom tells you and get an education.

go and have a talk to your neighbour and if they do not improve then phone the RSPCA to get them involved because they will monitor the situation, and take the dog away if needed. in which case you could give the dog a new home with your as you sound like a very loving person.

I would go ahead and call ASPCA or the Humane Society orAnimal Control. I think that if a person can treat a puppy that badly, then they can treat a child that badly.

PLease make the phone call. They will investigate it. They will be able to tell by the puppies physical apperance and it's personality.

i think u should come over more often to their house and take care of the puppy (i am a dog lover) and talk them into going on vacation but try to hide it cause they might notice and tell them when they go on vacation u can take care of it then u get so atached they will notice and they might let you take care of it 4 a while. goood luck and hope this works!
