Beagles and Where They Came From
Is it time to bring a new pet into your family? If so, why not consider a Beagle as your next family pet? Beagles are known as friendly, social dogs that have a long history of breeding. These compact dogs make mighty hunters due to their speed, energy and tenacity. This is something to consider when bringing one of these dogs into your family.

I have a 2 yr old Beagle mix that came from the pound last year. I have had trouble house breaking him.?
Any change to his schedule and he goes in the house. My work schedule/house guest. I thought I was making real progress, then he started going for his nightly walk and going outside. He will come inside and within 20 minutes have another bowel movement in the house. No warning.. He was just to the vet but could there be a medical reason or just behavior. First time dog owner… Help
I have heard that Beagles are VERY hard to housebreak. I don't know why, my first dog was a Beagle mix and she grew up on the street before I found her. She never had one accident in the house unless she was sick. You might try keeping him on a leash tied to your belt and keep a close eye on his body language. Praise him profusely when he goes outdoors and give him a loud NO when you catch him in the act in the house.

Beagles are stubborn to start with and you have to correct other people mistakes. Dogs love a regimented routine and by taking him out at the same times every day will help alot.

i have a beagle, too. They have a lot of health issues. And they take a long time to train. If you, congradulate them everytime they do something right than they will learn from their mistakes. I had 2 beagles but one die from bladder issues. Check with your doctor for more information.

I would greatly recommend crate training.
