don’t ever let your beagle off a leash in open spaces or anywhere near roads. They are bred to run off on their own, no training will be 100% with a beagle.
Beagles like to do …
Beagles like to do their own thing so you have to make him learn that it is REALLY worth it for him to stick around with you and come when he is called. Practice a lot with a 15′ leash or longer so he can wander without being off leash. Use your command for come and be really excited about him coming to you. Make it fun! Lots of love, good treats, etc. Practice, practice, practice, and don’t ever scold him when he comes to you, even if he deserves it.
