How can I teach my dog to learn smell…?

How can I teach my dog to learn smells drugs?
Because, I don’t want anyone come to my house if they have drugs with them.
She is mini beagle / 6 months old.
Yes, I know them all but I still don't trust anyone!
Bonnie L = me troll? geeze.
Calling me a troll because I am a drug free?
Dogtrainer22 = wow , you're right.
Thanks , Abc N

This skill absolutely can be trained, but you would need to have things that smelled like the drugs you want your dog to alert to. That would mean you need to have drugs in your home or some pre-made scenting agent made for this purpose- I have no idea if that exists. There a couple of books on Dogwise.com that teach you how to teach your dog to scent.

I really suggest that you dog teach your dog to scent- it would be a fabulous activity for a beagle and real bonding experience for you and your dog. However, I think you should probably not go with this drug thing- how about teaching your dog to find lost pets? You could make money doing this.

Can you give me ideas of what dog to get?

I can only get a small dog, and it can not have alot of hair, or hair that has to be groomed ALL of the time. Right now, i am thinking of a dachshund, a westie (or white terrier), a pomeranian, or a beagle, or a mini collie……please give me a list of cute, small dogs, and tell me wich dog i have listed, is your favorite. THANKS! :)

Well if it has to be small and not lots of hair right now I say a Chihuahua. A Chihuahua is small a low amount of run, and a low amount of groom. A chihuahua is also very smart. Another dog that I can think of is a pug.witch is small low groom, low run, and comic. The last possible dog I can think of is a Labrador Retriever, witch is medium, low groom intelligent and a high run. My friend has four dogs lol any ways good luck and bye I hope that this helped. :)

P.S My favorite dog that you listed is a mini collie, beagle, and a DACHSHUND witch are so cute.

I have a little mini 13 inch male beagle, he is about 3 months old. his head is starting to turn brown?

when do i know he is done growing and when does his teeth biting stop?

Beagles do a lot of color changing as they grow. My son’s beagle started with his head black and white as well as black ears, and as an adult, his only black is on his body. He’ll be full grown height-wise by around 8 months, but will still have filling out to do.

His biting will stop when YOU teach him bite inhibition. All puppies do it and it’s up to the owners to teach them it’s not acceptable. What you do is yelp “ouch!!” very loudly to startle the puppy every time he bites you. Most puppies, if you offer your hand back right away, they won’t bite it again. More persistent puppies, need more. You need to take away their toy – you – turn your back, or even leave the room for a few minutes. When you come back, make it clear you love the puppy, not the action.

If you’re very persistent about training, they learn very quickly not to put their teeth on a person. Make sure your puppy has lots of toys of different textures – he’s going to be teething right about now and his gums will be really sore.

How long should I keep my beagle on the treadmill and how fast also my my terrier and my mini dobermin?

Please go to this link and you will see there are mini pinchers. Thank you to the ones who gave me descent answers.

I am so sorry to hear that u have had open heart and diabetes, and I am so glad that you are doing well.

I have copd wich is a lung disease and makes it very difficult to walk, I have also
had 2 open heart surgeries, and I also have neuropathy and nerve damage in my feet and left hand. I didnt mean to go into health problems here but some people think I am lazy and I am not.

You want the speed to make the dog "gait" not run, but also make sure that the dog is not pacing. Amount of time depends on the physical conditioning of the individual dog. One of my Beagles would easly gait on the tredmill for 8 hours if you let her. A half hour 3x a week is about right for most dogs.

AND IT IS NO MORE CRUEL FOR YOUR DOG TO WORK OUT THAN IT IS FOR YOU TO WORK OUT!!!!
