Pocket Beagles

ok, i want a REALLY cute small breed kinda like a Beagle but i want a Pocket Beagle, but im not sure if they exist anymore. Any Breed Suggustions, or do you think i should stick with Beagles, also what are good dog names?

actually i do own dogs i have a Labrador and a German Shepered mix, i love them to death, and i have never had a small dog before and i really want one
also pocket beagles are hunters i know that sounds weird, (beagles also hunt) I just thought that was cool, and i do have patience i trained my labrador
oh ok thank you i didnt know that that really helps i think i will get the regualar sized beagle because it would break my heart if my smaller sized beagle died of a health problem

'Pocket beagles' are bred-down runts of regular sized beagles. They are the equivalent to a 'teacup'. They tend to have tons of genetic defects, including spinal deformaties, joint problems, warped front legs, and heart defects. I'd stick with a normal-sized beagle. The 13" Beagles are pretty small already!

I read a question someone had written about getting a pocket puggle. I had never heard of one of these so I did a search. After seeing the pug and beagle mix it sparked my curiosity about other purposely mixed breeds. I ran into a labradoodle and a chiuaua/german shepard and was wondering if these mixed breeds mate or if they are artificially insemenated? I know this sounds like a rediculous question but I really am curious. I also saw a place that claims to have the only mini dalmations anywhere….how would they go about making a large dog a mini without mixed breeding with a smaller dog?

They can mate naturally. It's more common for the smaller dog to be female (and it usually requires a C section at delivery do to the large puppies) but you'd be amazed how good dogs are at getting into position when it is time. Because a dog does not have a fibroelastic penis (one that enlarges and fills with blood in order to erect), the width doesn't change much from dog to dog. (This is probably TMI, so I won't continue…just know that as far as equipment goes, a Chihuahua is not too much different than a St. Bernard).

I have a Neuro Cargiologist that "apparently " has adjusted my pacemaker to start shocking me in order to scare me into and expensive operation called Ablation.
I have pretty good evidence this is going on and I am working to trap this guy at his game. I had been doing fine up until I saw him and told him so. I felt I was getting better. He told me he doubted it and acted insulted that I wanted to take less drugs and use food supplements to support my therapies. He adjusted my pacemaker at that time but led me to believe he had not. I found this out by speaking with his nurse. Since that visit, 7 days later I started having these horrific shocks from the pacemaker. These "therapy" shocks are very painful. I think this guy is trying to scare me into another operation and into insecurity in order to line his own pocket. If I can prove intentional abuse of this pacemaker system by this doctor how can I put this jerk out of business?
I am getting other opinion and also getting the pacemaker reset to the old setting wherein I had never been shocked and was showing signs of improved health. I think I have good documentation in writing of all this. This guy needs to be called on the carpet for this once the info is all assembled, if indeed my accusation is correct. Who do I bring this to the attention of to get the best effect against this doctor. I don't imagine I could sue but he should be stopped or at least scared.

I really think that you should find a new doctor. If you are in the US, contact the American Medical Association about your concerns.

Are mini or pocket beagles recognized by AKC? and do you have a website where I can find more information about them? Please don't tell me to google it, If you have anymore information about them can you tell me, Thanks!
Has anyone on here ever owned one? was it a good or bad experience? was it hard or easy to train, did your dog listen or run off alot. any info would be great.
From what I heard a long time ago they where used by hunters, because they where so small they could go under bushes to chase out the rabbits, also the hunters could put them in their saddle bags, this is where they got their names pocket beagles? thats what I heard, but anyways have you ever owned one?

For AKC, beagles come in 2 sizes 13" and 15". The "mini beagle" would simply be a "designer" beagle. Beware of anyone selling "mini" this, or "teacup" that, as it's not always a purebred dog. Most of the time, when someone is trying to scale down a dog, they are cross breeding with a small dog of different breed in order to achieve the size they want.

You may be referring simply to the smaller of the 2 beagles, as these would fall in the 13" category. Any dog up to 13" would fall under this category. So, if someone is trying to sell you a, say, 8" beagle, it would simply be the 13" beagle.

Always ask to see the parents of the litter.

Are we not so blessed for having pets love us so. My little Lilly our beagle howls jumps and is a pocket of trouble sometimes but I love her with all of my heart and soul.

It's so wonderful to hear someone bring this up! I dispise people who seem oblivious to this, and keep animals while ignorantly neglecting them. It's so terrible that so many people don't see animals as worthy of time and care, let alone before-hand research. I love all my animals, and I care for and respect them as if they were human. I hate seeing people think of them as anything less.

are the beagles in the movie shiloh cats and dogs and underdog pocket beagles or just beagles cause a lot of the beagles i see are taller than the ones in the movie p.s. does anyone have a beagle or pocket beagle are they good pets and could you include the pros and cons if possible !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanxxoxox
